MICHAEL DONOVAN is a prolific multi-disciplined creative visionary born in Spokane, WA.
Donovan uses photography, film, art directing, and a podcast to communicate his interests in the "Two Great Bookends of Life," (sex and death) as well as spirituality, pop and modern culture, materialism, youth, aging, objectification, environmentalism, mental health, and the confusion and joys we develop from living a life wandering through interesting times.
Michael's photography and video work uses strong visceral, raw, bold imagery with dark and moody undertones. His work has appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Playboy, L'Officiel, Ginza, Vision, and Wonderland. Clients include Interscope, Sony, The Pierre Hotel and Gap.
MD's bi-weekly podcast, Walking Home, features a range of guests talking through their understanding and experiences in the material and spiritual worlds. His guests come from diverse backgrounds in fashion, photography, buddhism, porn, comedy, art, music, experimentation, and life.
Other outlets for Michael has includes the production of Big Mountain, a short film written and directed by Alexandra Gjerpen, which is currently in post-production. He is also Art Directing the Winter Issue of Black & Grey Magazine, available in stores in December 2014.
Michael Donovan is self taught, learning from curiosity. He lives in NYC and is available for both domestic and international projects.
