The genesis of my work is a mysterious need to rediscover universal and personal myths through images that can open up the mystery. Influenced by a rich baroque tenebrism, that is, dramatically juxtaposing light with shadow, a struggle arises between very dark and very bright sides of the human being, because light, and all its symbolic qualities, are more poetic when contrasted with darkness. Constructing the paintings from a method of progressive alternation of oil layers, which contrast heavy impastoes of light with thin and deep spaces of shadow, almost palpable complexities are manifested. My goal is to open a dialogue with mystery and invite the viewer to be captivated by the unattainable and the unknown.
