Hi, I’m Michael Buuck (yep, “uu” – pronounced \ˈbük\, like “Duke” with a “B”). My style is to evoke a story by capturing the essence of any scene – even the mundane has secrets to tell, if you know where to look.
I specialize in travel/adventure and real estate photography, while practicing daily with the weekly challenges of my Project365 – a year of photos that has grown into 650+ consecutive days of photography. No matter where my feet stand, I am always looking for a story to bring home to you.
Photographing since the age of 10, my aspiration is to wander the globe. Beginning with adventures on our 14 acre, foothill property to backpacking mountain peaks, the vastness of our planet fascinates me. I’ve been to over 5 countries, 15 states, and 50+ national parks/monuments and would be content spending the rest of my life visiting them again and again. A particularly memorable experience was backpacking up Kearsarge Pass. Unprepared for wet weather, we utilized trash bags to brave through hail and a reverberation of thunder trapped between the granite peaks. In the moment, the circumstances were far from pleasant, but ultimately, it became a memory that we revel in sharing. I’m excited for what new journeys life will bring, hoping that they include some untouched and extreme environments like the Atacama Desert and Salt Pans of Bolivia.
