AynaV is a human suspended between beautiful wishes and cruel reality, lost in the glitch fog of life. Some mornings she fondly recalls the beautiful scents and wisdoms, gifts from her extensive travels; some evenings she recoils uneasily from the cynicism of commercial advertising and the horrors of bombs and bullets. The past is both loved and feared, the future is both promise and threat, and we see all of this in her work – a new modernism opening doors to dimensions half-remembered/half-imagined. AynaV infuses her AppArt creations with story-telling traditionalism, filtered through the dream-states of expressionism, surrealism and pop art, Mondriaan, Dali and Warhol. None of it is easy, unburdened or joyless. All of it is real. This is not vapor art.
