I have a tendency of collecting odds and ends as I walk in a new place (usually plants). These four items were collected in a handful within a hundred foot walk through the dunes of Moss Landing, California. Species from left to right: Eriogonum parvifolium, mussel shell, Cakile edentula, and Jaumea carnosa.
I am an illustrator specializing in botanical & zoological illustration covering a wide range of media including pen & ink stippling, watercolor, colored pencil, block printing, and digital art and design.
I have worked in two National Parks, helped conduct research on pollinator interactions within Vermont blueberry farms, and done two years of illustration and field work for the American Chestnut Foundation. My experience in the field of natural science and my love of the outdoors heavily informs and encourages my work.
