Neehiba : Mythological animal
She is the goddess of the fossil energy that is oil.
On Earth... in the year 4699
The legend says that there was once an energy which was used to make all kinds of mechanical machines work. The inhabitants of the Earth competed to possess this power of nature, which was called black gold. Neehiba spread its black blood in the underground and pulsating veins of the planet. Civilizations tried to stop depending on this precious liquid, but it had the power to draw them deeper and deeper underground to extract it. Today we can still find remnants of this ancient civilization, remnants that prove the existence of this ancient and fearsome Goddess.
The French artist Virginie Gribouilli completed her studies in applied arts in 2004, with a special acknowledgement in illustration.
Beginning in 2010, the need to give birth to creatures naturally led her to choose figurative sculpture made of paper mache. In 2018, she realized that what fascinated her the most was the silhouette. The drawing through the shape, the force of the full which is drawn by the empty.
