There is spring. Almonds are scattered in the air of the vast velvet plains. I close my eyes and see my house not yet built. There are almond tree branches spread out in the midst of this splendour. Bare feet are stepping on the wet grass, fingers are touching wheat ears. The branches of the tree form complicate shapes, interlacing lines, harmony of forms. So I miss you. We could build a whole world around this almond tree. You see these branches look like a herd of wild horses, and there are the columns on whose shoulders the silent Virgins lie everywhere. They will meet us in the doorway and will stand guarding over the new world we will build just for the two of us. We are already here. It is sufficiently to reach out and open the door. The smell of herbs is intoxicating. I will finger your curly black hair, we will laugh and drink from the cup cool, spring water, running down from the stems of flowers. We will obtain a good house, may be in the next life. I open my eyes...
They have got us even here. We are lined up and made to kneel. Executioners are already behind us, their heavy boots sniff in the puddles of that cursed city. The back of my neck feels cool of their weapons. Raindrops bounce off it, breaking into small particles. That's all, time is over. Goodbye, see you in the green hills, where the land is so black, as black is your hair.
