A few years ago I started an instagram under the pen name James Loa. It was a means to express myself and explore interests in my southern heritage and challenge the conventional idea of what fantasy and urban fantasy could look like. I also had a strong vested interest in giving the gods and myths from Africa epic and romantic proportions to elevate them in social consciousness.
