Annoyed and disillusioned with corporate structures, Andreas Troeger made a bold exit from his conventional job as a mainframe computer specialist in 1988, diving headfirst into the eclectic world of underground performance art.
After studying film and TV in Munich, Germany, he began a new chapter at NYU in 1992. In the vibrant streets of New York, he crossed paths with Nam June Paik, the father of video art, and became an indispensable collaborator—working as a cameraman and editor while forging lasting partnerships with local fine artists, avant-garde choreographers, and international filmmakers.
