"Hang Up My Wings and Let Them Dry" is a painting inspired by the days when I almost gave up on my artist dream. Four years ago, I decided to put down my paintbrush. I turned away from the momentum that was driving me towards my dreams. I hang up my wings, and left them there. It was a decision I made because I had become too busy with handling the rush of everyday life to find the creativity within me. For over a year, I didn’t do any art, not even a sketch. But I grew sad, and the world looked and felt dimmer. It was then that I started painting again, with large broad strokes and colours that went onto the canvas before being properly mixed.
I gave up on art, but art never gave up on me.
