This piece was inspired by a Great White Shark named Lucy. Her injured caudal fin and various unique characteristics are hard to miss. Despite her limitations, she's one of the larger female sharks to patrol the waters of Guadalupe. She continues to inspire us to thrive and remain resilient no matter what we're facing in life.
With his permission, I referred to the epic Great White Shark photography of George Probst. All of his 'Lucy photos' provided the insight and details I needed to create her likeness. You can see more of George's work here: http://sharkpix.com/
