Khnum, also spelled Khnemu, ancient Egyptian god of fertility, associated with water and with procreation.
Khnum was believed to have created humankind from clay like a potter; a scene with him using a potter’s wheel, was depicted in later times.
He was the god of the island of Elephantine, near present-day Aswan, and was known as the lord of the surrounding First Cataract of the Nile River.
Sandro, also know as Sanio, is a big fan of ancient myths and stories, mostly Egyptian. Giving life to the ancient deities is what makes him happy. Sanio does his best to incorporate historical facts into his work, and finds inspiration in the colors and forms of ancient art.
