Horus, Hor or Heru, the falcon god, was the helper of Ra and symbolized the powers of the Pharaoh during most of Egyptian history. After avenging the death of his father, Osiris, he inherited the right to rule over the land of Egypt and went on to become one of the most important gods in the Egyptian pantheon.
He served many functions, most notably as god of kingship, healing, protection, the sun and the sky. He was worshiped from at least the late prehistoric Egypt until the Ptolemaic Kingdom and Roman Egypt.
Sandro, also know as Sanio, is a big fan of ancient myths and stories, mostly Egyptian. Giving life to the ancient deities is what makes him happy. Sanio does his best to incorporate historical facts into his work, and finds inspiration in the colors and forms of ancient art.
