Final for my illustration class for the 2013 semester.
It's St. Cecilia, Patron Saint of Music, alongside her husband, Valerian.
I chose to draw St. Cecilia because I wanted to try incorporating a lot of iconic symbology into a piece. I just finished up 2 semesters worth of Italian art history and was feeling inspired. Points to you if you know her story and you can guess all the iconic imagery associated with her martyrdom.
