In linguistics, the rebus principle means using existing symbols, such as pictograms, purely for their sounds regardless of their meaning, to represent new words. Modern letters are essentially stylized pictograms deriving from the two writing systems of the Fertile Crescent.
Which raises an interesting question how will writing work graphically for humans and AI in a world where sound is unnecessary.

I am a self trained artist.
I use drawing and painting to express and interpret the world through line,shape, form and being composed in a work of art. I paint both representational and non representational in order to achieve a story.
Within calligraphy my focus is on the Trajan and Latin alphabets using controlled technique counterbalanced against expression to achieve an aesthetic.
My work varies from whimsical to commercial and finally personal.
