Taihu Stone is a kind of limestone produced at the foot of Dongting Mountain (洞庭山) in Suzhou. It is used to build rockeries in gardens and for use along the edges of small ponds or lakes, to enhance the beauty of landscape. It is often referred to as scholar's rocks.
