Born and raised in southern New England, Richard Correale grew up surrounded by art. His father, Joseph Correale Jr., is a renowned watercolor artist in Rockport, Massachusetts.
As a young boy Correale was first introduced to the world of photography by his late grandfather, Joseph Correale Sr., who gave him his first camera, a Kodak Brownie.
Correale's early years of employment involved color separation for City Printing, one of the innovators of four-color printing. His interest and knowledge quickly grew into 39 years in the graphic arts.
