There is a tale of twin sisters... Originally born in China, both orphaned at a very young age. Their parents were murdered and the sisters left to fend for themselves. The sisters had rough times in the streets, ignored and often taken advantage of, but always looked out for and cared for one another. One sister we will call Ling wanted to be adopted by a new family, to live happily in a new home with her sister we will call Jiao. Jiao became accustomed to life in the streets and wanted them to survive on their own so she prevented Ling from seeking out another family. Jiao was a trouble maker and always stole food and other things to survive while Ling would try to find honest work and take on small random tasks to help make just enough to be able to feed and care themselves. Ling struggled with this as they mostly survived due to Jiao's efforts. One day while Ling was walking around she was mistaken for Jiao by an angry man and kidnapped. The angered man brutally beat the terrified and confused Ling as she didn't know Jiao had been constantly stealing from him. At the verge of losing consciousness Ling noticed Jiao behind the man, she began to furiously stab the man to his death, and even continued stabbing long after he was dead. Ling faintly watched before fading out of consciousness. The last moments she saw was Jiao trembling over the man's body with a delirious smile across her face.
Over the next few months and constantly on the run Ling noticed a change in Jiao. Jiao became more ruthless, something about taking another's life excited her. Jiao began luring men for their money pretending to be a prostitute but would then murder them as Ling watched in horror. Ling became terrified of her sister's new hobby, but Jiao would always convince Ling it was for the greater good, even comforting Ling afterwards. Jiao would always make Ling clean up after her murders and Ling was sickened doing so. Ling constantly reminded herself Jiao was the only family she had left, the only thing to hold on to left in this world. Ling believed one day she would be able to save her sister's soul and they could live a happy life without violence. Ling was to soft spoken, a delicate, and and good natured, powerless compared to Jiao on the other hand who was more dominant, intelligent, and arrogant. No matter what Ling said to her sister Jiao, she couldn't change her ways. One night Ling was terrified as she heard Jiao mumbling about how it would feel to take the life of someone who didn't deserve to die. A few days after Ling walked into the scene of a family slaughtered, left only a traumatized son quivering... Ling wept as she cleaned the remains of his family in front of him. Years passed and Jiao became most wanted for her serial killing in China and was continuously being hunted down. Ling had to cling close to her sister and stay hidden as she could be easily mistaken as Jiao and killed on sight. So the sisters exiled themselves to Japan where they went into hiding. Here they struggled more than ever due to the language barrier, Jiao was able to pick up and learn the bare minimum of Japanese. Ling could not grasp it, becoming 100% dependent on Jiao.
Ling prayed everyday hoping to change and save her sister as Jiao's killing habit eventually continued overseas. Many times the thoughts of stopping Jiao appeared in her mind but Ling did not have the will to take a life and become a sinner like her sister Jiao. One day Jiao's rein of terror came to an end as her and her sister Ling where found and both simultaneously slain. The night before Ling finally got an explanation out of Jiao after breaking down. Jiao said “ The moment after I killed that man long ago I felt a power unlike anything I have ever felt before from the days of being inferior, ignored, and treated like trash on the streets. I first killed because I felt I needed to rid of bad people who opposed us. Yet in the process I also started to think about why are parents were murdered and the feelings left to haunt me, thats when I killed that family. I needed to feel for myself how it felt to be a monster, what could drive someone to be a monster...To feel what it felt like to take away what was most precious to someone. Leaving that boy behind to cower amongst the remains of his family made me feel a relief, for the first time I could watch someone in front of my own eyes suffer in as much pain as we had. It made me feel that we weren't alone in our suffering, that others were capable of feeling the same pain we had, it felt good... It made me think, did the one who kill our parents suffer as well... I felt like I had taught that boy that bad things can happen in this world even to those that don't deserve it. It was then I learned that even I am capable of being a monster. Ultimately it feels powerful to be feared unlike the feeling of being forgotten, to think a whole nation would know who we are, to think a whole nation would be afraid of a single girl!”.
Years later and it is said the sister have been reborn in the form of spirits in Japan were they had fallen. The ghost of Jaio a dark malicious spirit brings disaster to those she haunts. Picking at random she curses, torments, and kills her victims living out her deep seated pleasure even after death, without reason nor rhyme. Jiao has been utterly reduced to her primal instinct to kill in this state, oblivious to the fact that this is what destroyed her sister Ling who she had always cared deeply for... Ling on the otherhand had a realization during her death. She realized during her life there was nothing she was capable of doing to change evil once it had blossomed in her sister's heart. The regret that now torments Ling is the fact she was to weak, unable to deliver retribution upon her sister Jiao. Ling felt she had the blood of all her sister's victims on her hands. Reborn as a powerful spirit she targets and punishes those who have evil in their hearts. Seeking to take vengeance upon any who commit evil acts, no matter even if the purpose was for the greater good... A pale spirit with hands soaked in blood, Ling especially punishes those who have yet to be punished. Now committing supernatural acts far more deadly and terrifying than anything Jiao has ever been capable of... These spirits will disappear from this world once the sisters are reunited. With Ling's new found purpose and power she will finally be able to punish her sister...
