New Darkness In The East takes place in Japan following an event known as ‘the skyfall’ in which a mysterious object has fallen from the sky in the middle of the night, fluctuating and disturbing energy sources throughout all of Japan. In the following days paranormal incidents appear to be on a drastic new rise. An ominous new atmosphere as fallen over Japan. Restless spirits have taken terrifying new insect-like forms and behaviors, they have become stronger, their presence more widespread, their curse amplified and more dangerous than ever before. The backstories will focus on the life, their death, the original ghost legend, and lastly the new amplified curse of each new individual ghost presented. This new take on Japanese horror combines the two great fears of ghosts and that of insects. Combining both of these unpleasantries into the creation of several new ghosts and stories of varying length inspired by the Japanese horror culture surrounding ghosts and urban legends.
Below I will include a very short section from the full story about the new curse of this entity:
New Darkness In The East – Since the day of the skyfall event a truly dangerous and horrifying entity 'Eiko The Demon' has become a lot more active in the Miyazaki Prefecture. Encounters now with the spirit of Eiko changing everything people knew and feared about the ghost story. There has been a rise in copy cat murders mimicking the killing of Eiko contracted in the Miyazaki Prefecture that have now been branching even outside of the area into other prefectures. There has been drastically fewer reported sightings of the ghost fueling the idea that the majority who have been caught have been carrying out these copy cat murders. Soon after committing the act the copy cat murderers themselves when found have committed suicide. Medical examiners find that the bodies of these copy cat murderers all appear to be covered in random bite marks that can't be traced to something physical. The bare minimum of two people who have seen the spirit and survived reported something different, something more terrifying in comparison to what was previously thought. These two reported similar experiences spending the night pursued by a monster. They both say it started similar to the ghost legend of encountering a woman with bloody stab wounds dressed in white in the middle of the night. Though when this woman spots them her arms and neck elongate in a fit of rage, transforming the ghost's limbs into a three centipede-like heads. In this terrifying new form these two very fortunate yet unfortunate survivors had to spend the entire night terrified and exhausted running away from this monstrous ghost who pursued them until the crack of dawn, scarily this was due to these two being a very good above average physical shape. As a member of the lantern society you must spend intense, exhausting, and nerve wracking nights of constant pursuit. Throwing yourself into harms way until you find a chance at exorcising this spirit that cannot be simply exorcised by conventional methods.
