The area surrounding plant roots is a hub of activity. Mycorrhizal fungi live inside and on the surface of the plant's root. Tiny specks of bacteria colonize the root surface and surrounding soil, and are grazed on by protozoa who help release nutrients the plant can use.
I hope that my artwork can help bring people a little bit closer to the invisible world of microbiology that we depend on for so much.
