A Girl, a pink flamingo and a Dead head month. This is not just a portrait, this is a story about motherhood, as I realized after I had finished drawing. A blooming Apple tree, a symbol of fertility, seems to grow through the girl's heart. Once you become a mother, you remain a mother for the rest of your life. The girl's hands are not visible, a Flamingo sits on them, symbolizing a certain restriction of freedom, new though beautiful, but binding duties. The Dead head moth symbolizes the hidden, sometimes appearing desires of the former freedom and ease, but these thoughts disappear, and the Apple tree continues to grow, giving its crops.
