I was inspired to paint this painting because I am draw to swallows and sunflowers and I could never understand the reason why.
In my research, I now know why.
Spiritually swallows represent breaking out of our comfort zone to experience different things in life.
Overall, the free flying bird symbolizes mindfulness and faithfulness.
The meaning of the sunflower includes happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace and devotion.
The sunflower possibly surpasses all others in terms of the power to bring people joy.
I personally feel as though, not intentionally, I combined the traits I most admire; honesty, optimism, faithfulness and most of all joy, I combined them all in this encaustic painting.
I am an Encaustic painter… I paint with fire.
