This is the first in my new series of paintings that will celebrate the heroes of science. Darwin is one of my favorite scientists, as his theory of evolution led me to an understanding of the world that informs me not only of animal behavior, but of our own. When I began studying evolutionary psychology with Prof Gad Saad, his ideas of contemporary behavior being based on our hunter gatherer brain really fascinated me and gave me a powerful lens through which to see the world through. Now, I see my own behaviors and weaknesses as relics of an outdated brain, and can try to rise above these tendencies through understanding their root cause. The original painting is available, contact me on my website.
