Paying tribute to the incomparable Irrfan Khan in this small way became a way to say goodbye for me. As an actor he has made us see the depth and complexity of life and the everyday characters we see around us and as a person he has been like a lotus flower, constantly blooming in the water but not letting it touch him. He seemed like an enlightened man who prefers living with simplicity and staying true to his art. Just looking back at his life made me introspect the entire direction of the way I want to live my life.
My art is my conversation with my ancestors, a tool for me to dig deeper into my roots, a cave for my unaccepted darkness and a path to my undiscovered light.
A central theme of my art is the relationship between humanity and nature, oftentimes the underlying thread that ties together my work and establishes my individual artistic voice.
