An intricate tapestry that unites the Southeast Asian tradition of dream weaving with the vibrant textile art of Sindhi rilli. This piece is a celebration of cultural synthesis, merging the spiritual essence of dream catchers with the geometric precision of rilli quilts. Each thread and pattern in “Dreamweaving Rilli” is a conduit for dreams, memories, and stories, creating a rich narrative that transcends cultural boundaries. Through this artwork, I aim to explore the universal human desire to protect and honor our dreams, weaving together a tapestry that is both deeply personal and profoundly collective.
My art is my conversation with my ancestors, a tool for me to dig deeper into my roots, a cave for my unaccepted darkness and a path to my undiscovered light.
A central theme of my art is the relationship between humanity and nature, oftentimes the underlying thread that ties together my work and establishes my individual artistic voice.
