A rose chafer (Cetonia aurata) feeding on a fig (Ficus carica). The beatifully colored rose chafer (also known as goldsmith beetle) is common in central and southern Europe, and I love when they swarm in their tens around fruits in lazy July and August days.
My art is a blend of both traditional and digital media. I love to draw in pencil and/or ink, and then color digitally, while trying to maintain a traditional feel. Sometimes I work fully digital if the project requires more flexibility in terms of image manipulation.
I’ve always been fascinated and inspired by the strongly narrative, densely detailed and yet delicate works by old masters such as Rackham, Rockwell, Doré, Bauer, Larsson, Clarke and Rossetti, just to name a few.
