Mixed pencil/digital piece inspired by Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'.
Marlow is being examined before his departure for Belgian colonial Congo:
'... when he produced a thing like callipers and got the dimensions back and front and every way, taking notes carefully.'
My art is a blend of both traditional and digital media. I love to draw in pencil and/or ink, and then color digitally, while trying to maintain a traditional feel. Sometimes I work fully digital if the project requires more flexibility in terms of image manipulation.
I’ve always been fascinated and inspired by the strongly narrative, densely detailed and yet delicate works by old masters such as Rackham, Rockwell, Doré, Bauer, Larsson, Clarke and Rossetti, just to name a few.
