A portrait of Lex Fridman.
I rarely have time for personal pieces these days, but I took some time to work on this one.
There's a running joke that Lex Fridman is a robot, a sort of logic-driven machine incapable of understanding humor or the irrational motivations that drive the humans he finds himself surrounded by.
However, I think in many ways Lex may be one of the best of us; a human driven by curiosity, a desire to test his own mettle, and an eagerness to challenge the very notion of what social media can be.
In my eyes, Lex's belief in the universality of love and the Rousseauean goodness of all people will undoubtedly cause far reaching impacts on artificial intelligence, robotics, and the way we interact with each other.
It is my belief that there may come a time when we look into the faces of artificial beings and see a small piece of Lex gazing back at us.
