"A New Friend" is an illustration of a young woman holding a tiny, white dragon. There's no full-scale story behind this one, but here's the narrative I was contemplating while making the picture:
Among the Nedarr, dragons are not kept as pets nor forcibly imprinted to their companions. Theirs is a partnership, the dragon choosing his or her favored companion - if indeed it wishes to choose one at all. Leucistic dragons as the one seen here, white of scale but dark of eye, are rare but not unheard of. They are said to bring luck and safe travels to the one they choose to ally themselves to.
Hi there! My name's Sarrah, and together with my husband we run our small creative business, Red Nebula Studios. I'm the visual artist of the pair of us (he does music!), so the work you see here will be all my own.
I have a passion for fantasy creatures, so expect lots of dragons, griffons, and other magnificent mythological beasts!
