It is a summer afternoon– late enough in the day that the air has cooled somewhat, but still thick with the sound of cicadas. Sunflower season has peaked, and the field is graced by a stoic, if not somber presence. The unicorn is often symbolically tied to purity, and in stories, they are cruelly hunted for their horns. This one finds respite in a sea of gold, safe for the time being, free to feel the warmth of the waning sunlight.
