Kreola After Earth is my largest personal project, and also the one I am most attached to. Rather than being a single script, it is a world I am continuously building, with multiple stories taking place within the same realm, stretching over several generations and characters. This establishing shot is from the main story, set on Kreola. A human refinery becomes visible in the distance as we move in. I shot all the landscape reference from a helicopter, having this scene in mind. The Matte Painting incorporates more than 20 personal photographs and involved a lot of de-modernization paint-out work. I especially enjoyed art directing the mood during visual development of this environment.
