I take a lot of inspiration from movies, new and old. I love the drama and the conceptualizing of an image. An image being able to bring a powerful state to the viewer be it simple or complex. This painting is a collage of an image from Trainspotting, an interesting movie, to which I added the pattern, the plants coming out of his nose and the fence. This can be about freedom or just about the itch that he must be having on his nose. It makes me scratch my nose a little.

My name is Mihai Cotiga I am a Romanian painter and architect from Bucharest.
“Why” is the best starting point for my thinking. I am fascinated with the meaning
of everything that surrounds me. The endless possibilities of life and painting and
that can be dizzying at times.
I create figurative art. I keep the digital mark visible and paint with oils. Current
technologies need to be present in historical mediums. The recurring subjects are
psychology, history and space.
