- The only surviving native species of crow in Hawaii
- It is found nowhere else on Earth
- Extinct in the wild
- Due to the incredible success of the captive breeding program, over 125 birds have a sustainable plan for release.
Hawaii has been losing it’s birds. These birds are among the most famous examples of evolution. It would be a shame to lose something so unique and important to Hawaii’s culture. I have chosen to highlight the crow because it’s critical status. The Alala could make a comeback and I hope they may thrive in their forest once again.
