They were born and raised in Chicago, land that has been part of the territories of Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Myaamia, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Kaskaskia, Peoria, and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) nations since prior to European colonization.
