The Anhanga are spirits known in Brazilian folklore. They are protectors of wildlife, especially those with young. They usually appear in the form of a white deer with glowing, fiery eyes. If a hunters quarry eluded them, some believed that the animal was aided in its escape by the Anhanga.
Pictured with the Anhanga here are a pair of Pampas Deer, a threatened species found in the grasslands of South America. They are at risk due to habitat loss, poaching, and diseases introduced by contact with livestock.
I've been working as an artist for about 3 years now, and I finally took the jump to do it full-time. I'm trying to develop my career, learn new skills, and keep my bills paid! My big love is illustration, especially inspired by wildlife, fantasy, and nature. I also have a series of silly doodle comics about life, art, and being human!
