The Musicians of Bremen are a donkey, dog, cat, and rooster who've been cast out by their owner as too old and useless to feed and shelter anymore. The animals decide to combine their talents and seek their fortunes.
When they find a gang of robbers counting their loot and feasting at a cottage deep in the forest, the animals decide to try to scare them away. They form a pyramid in the darkness so they'll look like a monster, and then they make their music, braying, howling, yowling, and crowing at their top of their lungs. The robbers, scared out of their wits, run off, leaving their loot and the feast for the hungry musicians.
I started drawing as soon as a toddler in the mid-1950s--and I never stopped. My first love as an artist is whimsy, usually in the form of animals both natural and mythical, and I'm inspired by fairy tales and fantasies of all kinds.
