An endangered species native to and found only on six of the eight Channel Islands off the coast of California, the Island fox is about the size of a housecat, weighing only 4-5 lbs. Its only predator is the golden eagle, which is roughly four times its size. The little fox eats mice and other very small animals.
I started drawing as soon as a toddler in the mid-1950s--and I never stopped. My first love as an artist is whimsy, usually in the form of animals both natural and mythical, and I'm inspired by fairy tales and fantasies of all kinds.
