This oil painting I did of our cat reminds me to focus on what I want in life. This cat is always so intense and thoughtful. It's like she sees into my soul and knows things I don't even know. Here's she's got that intense stare focused on a bird outside our window.
On your wall of your home or office, this painting can remind you to focus on your goals and dreams too. In these times, our pets helped us get through it, entertained us and brought joy to our lives. This can loves to sit outside on our deck with us in the mornings during what I called our "coffee talk in the sun." On your wall, I hope this piece will help you stay focused and enjoy life too.
Unlike many other artists, I didn't start painting until midlife ... and then only did so out of necessity to give art lessons to my children because there was no art in their school here in this small Goldrush town in the Sierra Mountains of California.
Because it didn't come naturally to me, I simultaneously studied the mind and how it works. The book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain was invaluable but I also researched scientific studies to figure out how to shift my mind from non-artist to artist. I improved ten-fold unbelievably quickly.
