The “Versos” collage series began after I came across a vintage Japanese book documenting the work of a prolific Ikebana artist.
Working within a strict framework, I combined each page with one or more other pages to create compositions of spacial ambiguity and illusion. Spontaneous and highly controlled like much of my work, this group showcases these contrasting qualities, producing compositions that I hope are both thought provoking and visually stimulating.
Newly modifying this series through cropping, enlarging and inverting, I’ve made “Inversos”, further emphasizing the imperfections of the vintage book’s printing and hand-cut collage processes.

As an internationally exhibiting artist, her work has been shown in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Hamburg and Amsterdam. Bay Area solo shows include Gregory Lind Gallery, Ampersand International Arts, and Gallery 16 in San Francisco. She was an artist member of Minnesota Street Studios in San Francisco and is the creator of the remote Here/Now Residency.
