"Nevermore" is the only answer a raven repeats over and over again in the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.
It is about a man who mourns his deceased love. A raven visits him in the middle of the night and the man sees this as an omen. He asks the raven various questions about his deceased lover, but the raven only repeats the word "Nevermore", which finally drives the man crazy.
The raven symbolises the past, which must be accepted as it is in order to look to the future.
