Ravens often serve as errand runners (flyers?) for witches, vampires, and the like. This particular raven had been so good at her job that her master had enchanted her in many ways to be even better at performing her dark duty. The raven was made large enough to carry small livestock and humans to the witch. On one such endeavor the raven took a spear to back many times while trying to scoop up a heifer, she started to fly home empty taloned but didn’t quite make it. Her master found where she crashed in the woods and resurrected her cunning raven servant and now the great black bird is an even more fearsome omen.
