The rugged, red rocks provide some shelter from the vicious sandstorms that tear through this arid land. Some creatures make these earthen palisades their home and hide themselves away from the biting winds of the sandstorms. This hyena was formally a war beast, used by humans as a means of attack as well as security. Sent in to the sandy wastes to recover a lost supply caravan, the patrol this hyena was a part of met the same fate of being lost to the sands. Though the human members of the party suffered death when enveloped by the sands this hyena was able to endure and escape.
