With the coming of the first of winter’s snow there is always one final lightning storm bringing with it a deluge of freezing rain. Descending from the clouds with this brutal mix of precipitation comes the great winged stags at the end of every Autumn.
It’s believed by the people down below that these deer command the weather and bring the snow and ice down with it but they’ve got that wrong. It’s the other way around, the cold conditions amongst the clouds drive the deer out to soar down to solid ground. That ground which they trod around on until the clouds become much less frigid. Much of their time spent grounded is hiding and evading the metallic edged weapons and projectiles that folk around tend to hurl at them.
