This piece was lovingly created for the 325th anniversary of the Salem Witch Trials. I love the modern witch aesthetic, and tried to capture that in this piece. I love using bright colors in my pieces as I like to think that each character I bring to life portrays a different aspect of who I am as a woman.

Shakespeare has always been a part of my life. I am captivated by the diversity of Shakespeare’s heroines, and it seemed natural to me to portray Shakespeare’s women as I see them in my mind. For this series I was inspired by such diverse styles as art nouveau illustrator Alphonse Mucha and mid-century pinup artist Gil Elvgren, spun with my own brightly colored, vintage aesthetic. I like to think that each character I bring to life portrays a different aspect of who I am as a woman.
