A watercolor illustration to say goodbye to this year - filled with various poisonous / toxic / stinging flora (pokeweed, lily of the valley, yew, bull nettle, and poison sumac), as well as a venomous (to prey) ringed-neck snake.
Art is about connection. The work I create often revolves around conversations with people close to me at the time. I am invested in understanding psychological nuances between lovers, friends and enemies. Thus, my work is always emotionally driven and very honest, often voyeuristically so.
I am fueled by the flora and patterns around me, and the weather patterns and animals of Florida, my home.
Cut paper is my favorite medium because it creates stark, delicate lines and much like emotion, it is very clear but very fragile.
