Hel (Hella, Hlle) Goddess- ruler of the land of the dead of natural death in Norse mythology. According to myths, Hel was only partially decomposed - she kept the face and body of a living woman, while her legs were a skeleton. Hel is also sometimes depicted as a person whose body was half the color of a human, the other terrified with a rotten navy blue color. The headquarters of Hel is Niflheim, from which she rules the souls of the dead. She was a merciless goddess. Hel is also the original name of hell in Norse mythology. Access to this land is through a cave called Gnipahellir and is guarded by a two-headed dog named Garm.
