There is something peculiar that happens when staring at an ear for so long. Painting in itself is a meditative process that takes you out of the habit of thinking in terms of language and labelling things. You just start to see the material world for what it is. The more I lost the concept of an “ear”, the closer you look at it and pay attention to the uniqueness of it, the stranger it becomes.
