Octopus are probably some of the most sacrificial animals alive. A mother octopus will guard the entrance to her nest without moving for 6 months - allowing for the eggs to fully develop and hatch. However, her determination to guard her eggs costs her her life. She dies of exhausting shortly after her eggs hatch since she hasn't slept or eaten for 6 months. This devotion and sacrifice is something we can all learn from.
