This is a Symbolist work. Images from nature aren’t described for their own sake. They’re created to express that behind the physical world lay a spiritual reality. I’m trying to take something ineffable, such as a dream or vision, and give it form.

John Clark Matthews lives on a mountain near Lake Arrowhead, California. During his early career, he created stop-motion children’s films. They sold well and won some awards, so Matthews was able to survive in the film world for thirty years. Ten of those years were at Sony Pictures ImageWorks where he learned CGI techniques.
