The Architect.
I never finished this piece. Sometimes life shifts. But maybe that is the beauty of this artwork. That I evolved as a person when I expected it to take longer. It was time to move on.
This piece started when I was completely burned-out. I wasn't able to look at screens because that was too overwhelming. My brain just did not work. It all started with drawing small parts of this artwork on separate pieces of paper. Just 15minutes every day.
I was living in panic, for around 6 months. Looking for a way back home. So I tried to draw the safe fantasy home. A giant castle that would protect me.
Every day I felt stronger. This is was the only thing I had. My only happy 15minutes of the day. The foundation of a safe home was under construction.
Eventually this became the artwork called ( Mirrors Of The Sky ). With a title referring to Studio Ghibli movies. Because those movies reflect peace and calmness. That was the only thing I wanted for that specific time.
After finishing the sketch, which is an artwork by itself. I thought about working it out digitally.
Same here. The first time I opened my file. I had to close it again because it was too overwhelming. I started slowly, painting for 10-15 minutes each day.
Now 2 years later, I am doing a lot better. But during this period, facing various fears and thinking about life. I changed so much as a person that it was time to move on from this artwork. For the better.
So I realized it already was finished.
